Derek & Brooke's September wedding day was nothing short of incredible, a day filled with love and hope. Starting off at the Gustavus chapel, I began capturing the details - I loved the softness of Brooke's dress and of course the pearl jewelry! Once dressed, it was time for Brooke & Derek's first look. The bride did a first look with her dad outside the chapel, who then escorted his daughter to her waiting groom. What a sweet moment this was to witness! There is no doubt that these two were made for each other. The sunny morning on the Gustavus campus was a perfect setting for portraits of the bride and groom, who were eventually joined by their excited wedding party and family. Then we all headed back inside for a prayer and to prepare for the ceremony. The chapel was an absolutely perfect space for this meaningful service. After the exchange of vows and rings, Derek & Brooke were pronounced husband & wife to the happy cheers of their guests. I don't think their smiles could've been any bigger! We then headed to the ballroom at the Courtyard Marriott in Mankato, which was impeccably decorated with sparkly silver candle holders and twinkle lights. After arriving from the party bus, Derek & Brooke surprised their wedding party by being introduced first and then roasting their bridesmaids and groomsmen - it was hilarious! The laughs continued into the evening as the crowd enjoyed the funny speeches. Then it was time for the first dances, which are always a special moment of a wedding day. Before wrapping up, I snuck the newlyweds outside for a few photos in the fleeting sunset light. Congratulations again, Mr. & Mrs. Wilfahrt! I am blessed to have been your wedding photographer.
