Twins 1st birthday cake smash | carver mn photographer [caleb & carly]

My goodness, where has time gone? It seems like just yesterday mom Teryn was contacting me to set up Jacob's 2 year portraits where he was going to wear a "Big Brother" t shirt. Then, come to find it, there was not one but TWO babies on their way to promote Jacob to big brother. And here we are, celebrating the twins' first birthdays, which completely blows my mind. Caleb and Carly are so sweet and look so much like big brother! We started the session with some darling Birthday Boy and Birthday Girl t shirts and these two showed off how they are working on standing up by things and jabbering away. I bet they will be walking and talking before we know it. Then we switched to a very fitting theme of MN Twins baseball; both of the kids went crazy over the pail of new baseballs! It wasn't long and they were both grabbing one, showing them to us and exclaiming "Ball!" It is just so cute watching little ones discover and learn new things. Before they could get into everything in reach, we decided it was time for cake! Days prior to the session, Teryn and I were messaging about how the twin's cake smash could only go better than Jacob's own one year cake smash where he screamed when we gave him his cake. Boy were we mistaken! Once Caleb and Carly dug into their cakes, they both started crying! At least we know they are related. These kids are just comical. My favorite part was when Carly swiped some frosting off her brother's leg, never mind that she had her own pink cake right in front of her. Once Teryn was cleaning up Caleb, Carly started eating some of her cake, tear-free. What goofy kids who never cease to entertain me!
