chris & laura [married!] | racine wedding photographer

Towards the end of July, I had the opportunity to travel east to Racine, Wisconsin to capture a dear friend's wedding. Chris & Laura are absolutely perfect for each other! This wedding day was a dream come true in so many way, one most notably that Laura has always said she wanted me to be her wedding photographer..someday. Well, she met Chris and hit it off and someday finally came! We arrived at Chris' parents beautiful home for the ladies to get ready. Then, we headed down to the shores of Lake Michigan to a very special spot - next to the bench where Chris popped the question - for the couple's first look. I don't think the sun could have been shining any brighter for the moment for these two to see each other for the first time on their wedding day. After a few portraits, we met up with the wedding party down at the pier for some group photos. They were all troopers, letting me steal their sunglasses and rocking black suits in the sun and heat! Chris' sons, Alex & Micah were especially adorable in their little suits! An overlook provided a fun perspective for a few more photos of the couple together. At the church, we got many fabulous family photos - including a large Reinke family photo with all the kids actually looking at the camera! The wedding ceremony followed, with not many dry eyes left in the sanctuary (including a childhood friend watching via Skype from Korea!) as Chris & Laura were pronounced husband and wife. There were many delicious goodies and funny stories from the maid of honor and best man speeches at the reception. After kicking off the dance with the couple's first dance, the guests joined them on the dance floor. So many little kids were busting moves! We were able to steal the couple away and run back to the lake for a few beautiful sunset photos by the special bench. What a fantastic day celebrating such a wonderful and loving couple. A big thanks to my second shooter, Katie, who provided endless help and awesome photos at this wedding. Congratulations, Chris and Laura!
