Daric & Katy tied the knot - literally - in an personalized outdoor ceremony at Heritage Acres in Fairmont, MN. The couple opted to not see each other before walking down the aisle, which gave me time with each half of the wedding party for some fun photos. The different colors featured in the wedding party was a fun and unique idea, as was the bride's braided and curled hairstyle. Also, I had to ask her if the dress she found was called "The Katy" because that dress looked like it was made just for her. So beautiful! Thankfully the rain held off during the ceremony, which included their own vows that they wrote themselves as well as a hand fasting ceremony, where the term of "tied the knot" came from, as the officiant tied the braided cord around their clasped hands. After the pronouncement of husband and wife, we took advantage of the property's many photo opportunities for wedding party, family and portraits. Just as it started to sprinkle (and not to mention storm for the rest of the evening) we jetted off to the reception at a local hotel. The speeches were heartfelt and the castle cake was phenomenal! I have never seen such a large or intricate wedding cake. The bride requested more images of the cake than of her and Daric..it was THAT cool. After the couple's first dance and the parent dances, the wedding party hit the floor and danced the night away! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Sitzman!
